Which ITR form is applicable for my business?
It depends on your business structure. ITR-3 is for individuals/HUFs having income from a proprietary business. ITR-4 is for presumptive taxation scheme. ITR-5 is for LLPs and Partnerships, and ITR-6 is for Companies.
For businesses not requiring a tax audit, the due date is generally 31st July of the assessment year. For businesses requiring an audit (e.g., turnover > β‚Ή1 Crore for regular business or β‚Ή50 Lakhs for professionals), the due date is usually 31st October.
If you file your return after the due date, you may be liable to pay a late filing fee up to β‚Ή5,000 under section 234F. Additionally, interest is charged on the outstanding tax amount, and you may lose the right to carry forward certain losses.
