Token FAQs

Everything you need to know about hardware crypto tokens.

What is the difference between ePass2003, ProxKey, and m-Token?
All three are FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified USB tokens capable of storing Class 3 DSCs securely. The primary differences lie in the manufacturer (Feitian, Watchdata, Moser Baer) and the driver interface. They are all legally valid and accepted across government portals in India.
Yes, a single USB token has enough memory to store multiple Digital Signature Certificates. However, for security and organizational purposes, it is recommended that different individuals use separate physical tokens.
If you forget your token password and enter it incorrectly multiple times, the token will be blocked. You will need to reset the token (which wipes all stored DSCs) and then re-download your valid DSC from the Certifying Authority using a challenge phrase or new approval.
